THE DESCRIPTION
A heavy Derby shoe that bears the brogue detailing synonymous with true country shoes. The Bourton is a piece of Northampton shoemaking history, and today they are the go-to shoe for men all around the world.
A full bellows tongue is folded and attached to the shoe to provide a watertight seal, with the storm welt providing an additional watertight seal between the shoe’s upper and sole. The profile of a Bourton is characteristically strong; with a solid sole unit, leather linings and the option of a traditional leather or Dainite sole for practicality.
THE LEATHER
C-shade requires a high level substance (the thickness) only achievable from the hides of heavier and older animals – our C-shade shoes and boots are made using sustainably sourced Bull’s hides. The result is a really robust leather that wears in beautifully and can really stand the test of time. C-Shade has a good degree of water resistance and due to its hard-wearing qualities is ideal for our country footwear.
From new, we advise using Neutral Polish to help maintain a pair of shoes in C-Shade. If you would like to add some more colour to your C-Shade leather then we advise using Fawn Polish. If you have a natural welt on your footwear then please be careful when using Fawn Polish. If you use Fawn Polish on a natural welt then it will stain.
THE FIT
The size (length fitting) of Tricker’s footwear made on this last (4444) is larger than a regular UK size by half a size. If you are unsure of your UK size, use our size guide to convert your known size to a UK size. Then take off half a size.
So if you normally take a UK size 8 (equivalent to US size 9, Japan size 27 and EU size 42), we recommend you order a size 7½ and so on.
